ABOUT ME

Jill has become expert at observing and capturing the human condition.  As a TEDx speaker, with a bachelor's degree from Tulane University in sociology, volumes of written published and unpublished works, and a research career spanning over 20 years, she has been able to uniquely translate all of the above in her writings.  Jill has always had a passion for writing. She possesses an even greater penchant for understanding the workings of the human mind. 

Jill says, "I grew up in an environment rich with artistic expression. My dad was an intense jazz musician. Mother was a passionate math teacher.  Thus, we were raised with weighty expectations to play musical instruments and to do well in school (at least in math). So, my three siblings and I learned to play vessels of sound at a very early age.  I played the flute. Still play, when I can.  Needless to say, the art of writing was not part of any assignment at home though.  Wasn't necessarily encouraged or discouraged.  But instinctively, as a young teen, I began journaling about the unspoken, uncomfortable realities of life as I saw it."

With humility and God’s grace, Jill has taken what she’s learned as a student of life and created a uniquely fun and exciting way to explore psycho-social, and emotional realities - through a mystery series.

 Jill was reared in the historic Pontchartrain Park subdivision of New Orleans, LA where she grew up singing and playing her flute in the church choir.   When Jill's not writing, she can be found working her 9 to 5 in research, playing her flute, playing tennis, or spending time with family and friends.  Jill says that she's found giving through volunteering to be a blessing and a key element in being able to nurture creativity.  

 The deliciously beautiful, compulsively flawed, and brilliantly driven psychiatrist, Dr. Morgan Jane Winters, has become the go to person for solving crimes in the charming, eclectic city of New Orleans.  Coupled with the ruggedly handsome, Jackson Slade, Commander of Special Investigations for the New Orleans Police Department, our heroine never fails to take you on a crime fighting journey that's hard to forget.  She skillfully outwits any foe with her off the charts IQ, unflinching courage, steely toughness, unshakable composure, empathic six sense, and compassionate grace of God.  To the world, she’s known as Dr. Morgan Jane Winters.  To the city of New Orleans, they call her 'that crime solving Doc'.
